Tensorflow configuration file
GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together. At a high level, the config file is split into 5 parts:. There are a large number of model parameters to configure. The best settings will depend on your given application. Faster R-CNN models are better suited to cases where high accuracy is desired and latency is of lower priority. Conversely, if processing time is the most important factor, SSD models are recommended.
Read our paper for a more detailed discussion on the speed vs accuracy tradeoff.
The contents of these configuration files can be pasted into model field of the skeleton configuration. Users must specify the locations of both the training and evaluation files. Additionally, users should also specify a label map, which define the mapping between a class id and class name. The label map should be identical between training and evaluation datasets.
Note that the paths can also point to Google Cloud Storage buckets ie. While optional, it is highly recommended that users utilize other object detection checkpoints. Training an object detector from scratch can take days.
To speed up the training process, it is recommended that users re-use the feature extractor parameters from a pre-existing image classification or object detection checkpoint. If false, it assumes the checkpoint was from an object classification checkpoint.
Note that starting from a detection checkpoint will usually result in a faster training job than a classification checkpoint. The list of provided checkpoints can be found here. This field is optional. Please note that the optimal learning rates provided in these configuration files may depend on the specifics of the training setup e. Skip to content. Ubuntu sudo apt install python-dev python-pip or python3-dev python3-pip mac OS Requires Xcode 9. Install the TensorFlow pip package dependencies if using a virtual environment, omit the --user argument :. To build TensorFlow, you will need to install Bazel. Bazelisk is an easy way to install Bazel and automatically downloads the correct Bazel version for TensorFlow.
If Bazelisk is not available, you can manually install Bazel. Use Git to clone the TensorFlow repository :. The repo defaults to the master development branch. You can also checkout a release branch to build:. Configure your system build by running the. This script prompts you for the location of TensorFlow dependencies and asks for additional build configuration options compiler flags, for example.
However, if building TensorFlow for a different CPU type, consider a more specific optimization flag. See the GCC manual for examples.
There are some preconfigured build configs available that can be added to the bazel build command, for example:. Install Bazel and use bazel build to create the TensorFlow package. To build the 1. Use pip install to install the package, for example:.Creates a tf. No fields in the model config will be automatically filled in, so the config must be fully specified. Note that the inputs to the model should match the order in which they are defined in the feature configs.
Features will be considered ragged, so inputs to this model must be tf. Only applicable if the layer has exactly one input, i. Only applicable if the layer has exactly one inbound node, i. Variable regularization tensors are created when this property is accessed, so it is eager safe: accessing losses under a tf.
GradientTape will propagate gradients back to the corresponding variables. NOTE: This is not the same as the self. Only applicable if the layer has exactly one output, i. Running eagerly means that your model will be run step by step, like Python code.
Your model might run slower, but it should become easier for you to debug it by stepping into individual layer calls. By default, we will attempt to compile your model to a static graph to deliver the best execution performance.
This is useful for separating training updates and state updates, e. Submodules are modules which are properties of this module, or found as properties of modules which are properties of this module and so on. This is to be used for subclassed models, which do not know at instantiation time what their inputs look like. This method only exists for users who want to call model. It will never be called by the framework and thus it will never throw unexpected errors in an unrelated workflow.
If the layer has not been built, this method will call build on the layer. This assumes that the layer will later be used with inputs that match the input shape provided here. See the discussion of Unpacking behavior for iterator-like inputs for Model.GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together. If nothing happens, download GitHub Desktop and try again.
If nothing happens, download Xcode and try again. If nothing happens, download the GitHub extension for Visual Studio and try again. First we need to clone the Tensorflow models repository. After cloning the repository it is a good idea to install all the dependencies.
This can be done by typing:. COCO is a large image dataset designed for object detection, segmentation, person keypoints detection, stuff segmentation, and caption generation.
Using make won't work on windows. To install the cocoapi on windows the following command can be used:. These files need to be compiled into. Google provides a programmed called Protobuf that can compile these files. Protobuf can be downloaded from this website. After downloading you can extract the folder in a directory of your choice. Now we can use it by going into the console and typing:. Lastly we need to add the research and research slim folder to our environment variables and run the setup.
This completes the installation of the object detection api.

If you want to use Tensorflow 1. Installing the Tensorflow Object Detection API can be hard because there are lots of errors that can occur depending on your operating system.
Docker makes it easy to setup the Tensorflow Object Detection API because you only need to download the files inside the docker folder and run docker-compose up. After running the command docker should automatically download and install everything needed for the Tensorflow Object Detection API and open Jupyter on port For more information check out Dockers documentation. To train a robust model, we need lots of pictures that should vary as much as possible from each other.Detective conan canon episodes
That means that they should have different lighting conditions, different backgrounds and lots of random objects in them. You can either take the pictures yourself or you can download them from the internet. I took about 25 pictures of each individual microcontroller and 25 pictures containing multiple microcontrollers using my smartphone. After taking the pictures make sure to transform them to a resolution suitable for training I used x Make sure that the images in both directories have a good variety of classes.
With all the pictures gathered, we come to the next step - labeling the data. Labeling is the process of drawing bounding boxes around the desired objects. LabelImg Download. Download and install LabelImg. For this tutorial make sure to select PascalVOC. LabelImg saves a xml file containing the label data for each image.
These files will be used to create a tfrecord file, which can be used to train the model. With the images labeled, we need to create TFRecords that can be served as input data for training of the object detector.
I am using the object detection api in tensorflow. I noticed that practically all parameters pass through the config file.
I could not find any documentation or tutorial on the options for these config files though. I know that in the official git they provide a list of config files for their pretrained models which could be very helpful but it does not cover every case and of course does not provide any explanation if needed.
Is there a source I could refer to? Where could I find a decent list of options I have? I know that it's model specific but some of them are universal and really helpful. As mentioned in the configuration documentationconfiguration files are just Protocol Buffers objects described in the. The top level object is a TrainEvalPipelineConfig defined in pipeline. While most configurations relate to the Model Server, there are many ways to specify the behavior of Tensorflow Serving:. However, if you would like to serve multiple models, or configure options like polling frequency for new versions, you may do so by writing a Model Server config file.
Please note that each time the server loads the new config file, it will act to realize the content of the new specified config and only the new specified config. This means if model A was present in the first config file, which is replaced with a file that contains only model B, the server will load model B and unload model A. For all but the most advanced use-cases, you'll want to use the ModelConfigList option, which is a list of ModelConfig protocol buffers.
Here's a basic example, before we dive into advanced options below. Each ModelConfig specifies one model to be served, including its name and the path where the Model Server should look for versions of the model to serve, as seen in the above example.
By default the server will serve the version with the largest version number. For example, to pin version 42 as the one to serve:. This option is useful for rolling back to a know good version, in the event a problem is discovered with the latest version s. To serve multiple versions of the model simultaneously, e. For example, to serve versions 42 and Sometimes it's helpful to add a level of indirection to model versions.
Instead of letting all of your clients know that they should be querying version 42, you can assign an alias such as "stable" to whichever version is currently the one clients should query. If you want to redirect a slice of traffic to a tentative canary model version, you can use a second alias "canary". In the above example, you are serving versions 42 and 43, and associating the label "stable" with version 42 and the label "canary" with version Once you are done canarying version 43 and are ready to promote it to stable, you can update the config to:.
If you subsequently need to perform a rollback, you can revert to the old config that has version 42 as "stable". Otherwise, you can march forward by unloading version 42 and loading the new version 44 when it is ready, and then advancing the canary label to 44, and so on. Please note that labels can only be assigned to model versions that are already loaded and available for serving.TensorFlow is an end-to-end open source platform for machine learning.
